Fasting to Cure Acne – How Does It Actually Work?

I used to have major skin problems during my teenage years. I tried almost every type of skin care product I was able to find. It did improve my condition a little but I didn’t like the way the my face felt dry and flaky.The moment I stopped using these products, acne started to build up again. Fortunately I found a natural way to treat my acne problem and it didn’t just improve my skin condition but improved my overall health tremendously.

Fasting to cure acne is one of the most effective methods. It will cleanse your whole system,removing all the toxins that is in your body. Instead of curing your acne from just the surface alone, it will actually get to the root of the problem and eliminate the cause of your acne.

At least a week before your fast, you need to start eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Cut down on meat, complex carbohydrates, caffeine and sugar. This is to make sure your body will start to adapt itself and be ready for the fasting period. You don’t want to shock your entire system by going straight into the fast.

There are several ways of fasting but juice fasting or juicing is one of the best ways and it’s not as intense as other type of fasting. Consume freshly squeezed juices such as apple,carrot and cucumber or you can even make your own combination. Don’t be too hard on yourself and start slowly, maybe fast for one day initially. Fast for a period of two to three days.

You will start to experience to experience certain healing symptoms. For instance, your acne might get worse but this is due to toxins that is released from your body. Don’t be discouraged, this is just a temporary thing and it will pass.

During this period, you should get lots of rest and restrain yourself from physical activities. Just do some light exercises or you can do yoga. You will start to notice the difference in your appearance and you will also feel much healthier and more energetic. Always consult your doctor before starting any type of regiment or treatment.
